If you want to see real Russians's day-to-day life and be
a part of a family, this is the best option.
All our host families:
- live in quality and clean accommodation;
- are highly educated people;
- speak one or two foreign languages;
- are genuinely interested in helping foreign guests to develop
fluency in Russian;
- are keen to make new friends and learn about the life and
culture of their new friends.
There are 2 main types of homestay we offer:
- Host families living in the center of St.Petersburg. The
apartments you will be staying in are usually in the buildings
of the 19th or early 20th centuries, located in a walking
distance from the most of the cultural and entertainment
places of interest.
- Host family living in farther districts of St.Petersburg.
These apartments are located in
later built buildings in outlying districts. Most of them
are close to Metro stations and are
about 3-4 metro stops from the center.

Many of our clients choose to stay with a Russian Family
during their stay in Russia. Here we will try to give you
some ideas of what you will be likely to expect from this
experience.
- You will know the details of your host family before you
come to Russia. It is often a good idea to bring a small
souvenir from your country or a gift — this will help
you to start the conversation with your family upon arrival
!
- Remember that you will be a part of the family and not
guest in a hotel. You should make your own bed and any help
you can offer to the family will be appreciated.
- Please tell them if there is anything you can't eat or
drink. Never take food from the kitchen unless your host
family have given you permission.
- Please always tell your family if you are going to miss
a meal or to be late for a meal. You can either call or
tell them before leaving the house for classes.
- Your host family will do a normal amount of washing for
you with their weekly wash.
- Please always ask before inviting your friends into the
house.
- Please do not use the family's telephone without asking.
The telephone service in Russia is not expensive however
if you would like to call home or another city or country
it is better to buy pre-paid calling cards and use a public
telephone.
- If you have a problem with your accommodation, please
speak first to your host family. It may be a simple thing
to put it right. If the problem continues, you are welcome
to talk to the managers in the office of "RST".
They will be happy to help you. Moreover, if you have difficulty
talking to your hosts in Russian, please, feel free to ask
us for help. We will call your family and try to sort things
out.
Most importantly, please remember that you are here to enjoy
your time in Saint-Petersburg. If you show interest in the
living habits and traditions of your host family they will
be interested in learning about yours. Some of them may be
quite different from what you have in your own country or
you have expected but if you respect your family traditions
and needs they will be glad to respect yours.
Living with a host family could be a great experience for
you and it could help you to make good friends for life.
