Corinthia Nevsky Palace * * * * *
57, Nevsky Pr.
The
Corinthia Nevsky Palace hotel (opened in 1993) is the result
of the renovation of two historical 19th century buildings
in the heart of St.Petersburg. The main building overlooking
Nevsky Prospect, Petersburg's main thoroughfare, was designed
in neo-classical style and built in 1861. The second building,
built in 1834, faces Stremyannaya Street and was previously
owned by the Samoylovs, a family of actors famous for their
work with Alexandrinsky Drama Theater.
Retaining its classical 19th century facade, the interior
of the hotel was completely rebuilt, two inner courtyards
were turned into a spectacular covered atrium. The building
itself tastefully blends into the landscape of St.Petersburg's
central avenue. Situated in Nevsky Prospect, the Corinthia
Nevsky Palace hotel is central to every place of interest
in St.Petersburg. It is close to the train station and within
15 km of Pulkovo international airport.
Each of the 285 hotel rooms has air-conditioning, mini-bar,
direct dial satellite telephone, satellite TV, radio alarm,
hair dryer and luxury bathroom with bidet. All rooms are equipped
with king-size beds with the exception of twin rooms. Standard
rooms overlook the inner yard of the hotel. Deluxe rooms are
much larger and most of them have a view of Nevsky Prospekt
or Stremyannya Street. Smart rooms are equipped with all necessary
computer units, fax-machine and additional writing desk. Junior
suites have a bedroom and a living room. All junior suites
overlook the inner yard. Classic suites have windows in the
bedroom and in the living room as well as an outside view.
The 7th floor of the hotel is called the Executive floor and
offers special treatment. Guests receive vouchers for drinks
at Vienna Cafe and have complimentary use of business centre
facilities. A light and cozy health club is located on the
rooftop and is free for hotel guests. Work-out machines, sponge
pool and sauna are available.
